OCEAN has discontinued support for the BIP110 chain effective August 29, 2026, because there was limited mining activity on that chain and in anticipation of the announced BIP110 proof-of-work hard fork. OCEAN will not adopt or support any BIP110 hard fork. There are no rewards payable by OCEAN on the BIP110 chain, now or in the future. If you were mining on OCEAN before the chain split, including if you were signaling for BIP110, those rewards were already handled and processed by the OCEAN Bitcoin mining pool on main chain Bitcoin under its standard payout rules. Important things to note:
Balances and rewards shown on the BIP110 side are NOT main chain Bitcoin rewards and will NOT be paid on main chain Bitcoin. BIP110 rewards can only exist on the BIP110 chain — a forked bitcoin chain with minority support — and they are NOT also earned on main chain Bitcoin. To our knowledge, these coins currently have no recognized market value.
Additionally, the BIP110 chain stalled following the unsuccessful UASF attempt on August 8, 2026. As a result, nothing earned on the BIP110 side post-chain-split ever reached the 100 confirmations required by the protocol before mined rewards can be spent on the network, whether before the discontinuation of our BIP110 support or before any BIP110 hard fork. We have no ability to change this, nor any obligation to take any other action. OCEAN does not recognize, and is not adopting, any BIP110 hard fork. Therefore, from OCEAN’s perspective, BIP110 rewards since the split will never be spendable and are forever frozen in place at BIP110 block 961639. Our Terms of Service govern our handling of multiple chains, including termination of support for any chain, and make clear that the choice of which chain to mine — and the risk and responsibility that accompany that choice — rested with each customer at all times. We have no obligation to support further handling of BIP110 rewards, as we no longer support that chain. All payouts that could be made have been made.
If you wish to continue mining BIP110 coins, please consider @CONVOY_Mining — a separate company unrelated to OCEAN — that has announced that it expects to continue the BIP110 TIDES sharelog, to support the BIP110 proof-of-work hard fork (changing the proof-of-work algorithm from SHA-256 to Blake2b), and to handle ongoing mining, rewards, and payouts where OCEAN’s old BIP110 sharelog left off. Any claim to post-split BIP110 rewards is solely a matter between you and CONVOY_Mining. We have no insight into their terms of service, timing, or support, and we have no obligation or responsibility to support their efforts to accommodate BIP110 miners.
